Confidentiality

As a certified school counselor, I am bound by confidentiality standards in accordance with the American School Counselor Association.  If a child discusses something with me privately, I make them aware that whatever they share is kept in confidence unless the child or someone they know is in danger.  I am also a big proponent of communication with parents and guardians, and I encourage children to talk with their parents/guardians about the things we discuss.  Many times I will let the children know I plan to call their parents or guardians to let them know we spoke.  I am always happy to schedule a time to meet with you if you ever have questions or concerns for your child.
